The Trails at 620 Announce State-of-the-Art DFX® Theatre

Galaxy Theatre at the Trails Features Four Story DFX® Screen and Full-Service

“Director’s Choice – Premium Dine-in Theatre”

AUSTIN, TX — June 20, 2011— The developers of The Trails at 620 today announced the details of the new Galaxy Theatre at the Trails.  In a concept unique to Austin, the theater combines an upscale traditional cinema with a luxury dinner theater.

The 1,500 seat theater will have eleven auditoriums, including a giant DFX® (Digital Fusion Experience) theater featuring a three-story screen and Dolby 7.1 surround sound.  All auditoriums will include oversized floor-to-ceiling silver screens with the latest digital audio and video technology, including 3D projection.  This technology enables the exhibition not only of movies, but also of live sporting and music events.

In addition to the newest cinema technology, four of the auditoriums will feature “Director’s Choice – Premium Dine-In Theatres”, offering an enhanced movie experience, with reserved seating, plush recliners, and in-theater food and beverage table service.

“We are very excited to be bringing not only the latest and greatest technology, but also offering our customers premium service,” says developer Leslie Sloan.  “In addition to regular movie concessions, we’ll be offering a variety of chef-prepared appetizers, light entrees, and desserts.  We’ll also offer an extensive selection of beer, wine, and cocktails.  These will be available in the lobby area to all Galaxy patrons and as premium table service in the Director’s Choice auditoriums.”

“We plan to make Galaxy Theatre at the Trails the first choice in movie entertainment in the Austin area,” adds developer Rodney Speaks.  “Our patrons may choose a more traditional theater experience or, for a small additional charge, our patrons will be able to reserve advanced seating and be served premium food and beverages in our Director’s Choice auditoriums.  All of our auditoriums feature the most advanced movie technology, which guarantees a spectacular experience in every auditorium at this theater.”

Galaxy Theatre at the Trails plans a grand opening summer 2012.

The Trails at 620 is a 250,000 square-foot retail development located in the Four Points area of northwest Austin on FM 620, across from Concordia University.  Construction is underway with completion of Phase One anticipated in early spring 2012.  In addition to Galaxy Theatre, Phase One will include a variety of retail, quick service restaurants and family sit-down restaurants, including Whataburger®, Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers®, Schlotskys®, and Flores Mexican Restaurant.

Edge Realty Partners is providing marketing services for the developers and is now pre-leasing for Phase Two.  Financing is being provided by Frost Bank.
